From the studio

LuxeOS began in a small studio above a tailor shop in Florence, with a single cashmere scarf and a long list of makers I wanted the world to meet. Every piece we carry is the work of someone I have visited, often more than once — someone whose hands I trust, whose standards I have argued with, and whose studio I can usually find on a quiet side street.

Sourcing & Materials

Where the cloth comes from

Our cashmere is spun in a small mill outside Ulaanbaatar, where the herd has been tended for four generations. Our linen is grown and woven in northern Italy — finished without bleach so the natural knots and slubs stay visible. Our leather is vegetable-tanned in Tuscany, and our silks come from a single family workshop near Como that has been on the same loom for over sixty years. We do not work with mills we cannot name, and we do not carry pieces we cannot trace back to a person, a place, and a season.

Materials

Cashmere from Mongolia, linen and wool from Italian mills, vegetable-tanned leather from Tuscany. We name the place of origin on every product page and reject anything that cannot be traced.

Technique

Hand-finished seams, hand-rolled hems, stitching done on machines older than the people who run them. We choose technique over speed — a single cashmere sweater takes the workshop three weeks.

Small-Batch

No piece in the catalog is produced in a run larger than sixty. When a batch sells through we wait for the next, rather than reordering. That is what small-batch means here, and that is why many pieces go out of stock.
